EvoTrim 1-in x 4-in x 12-ft Primed S4S Radiata pine Exterior trim Softwood Board

Primer not bonded to wood

I’m on my third season with these installed as door trim, and just finished my second seasonal round of priming and painting where the factory primer flaked off. See picture, it’s essentially bare wood, little to no bond between primer and wood. Second pic is after I installed it. I initially topcoated with Sherwin Williams after install, and now on my second round of using Bin to prime the exposed bare wood and SW to topcoat. Very disappointing, would have been way better off just buying unprim...

Very nice wood

I normally purchase poplar but this was to be painted molding. It was more affordable than poplar and nearly as easy to machine. One downside is that the painted surfaces do not take wood glues well.

Not great quality, but it works

Economical, you get what you pay for

Trim Board appears to be doing the job.

This served my purpose for trim on an outside shed. I would have bought two 8 foot sections, but could not find such in the store. This needed primer paint soon after I installed it. I hope it holds up.

Pre-Primed Is a Good Thing

My preference is to use pre-primed boards as it makes it much easier to paint on my end.

Defective

Using a putty of some sort to fill defects from manufacturing process which must not be curing appropriately. Like the other boards purchased, the "putty" is compressible with touch of finger tip. It also seems to be shrinking with time and likely the reason it was not discovered with visual detection and selection when purchased from stock at Lowe's. The Manufacturer of EvoTrim, UFP Edge, not prompt to address cause or remedy the issue. Avoid product.
