Made in the USA Summit brings new innovation to small kitchens with the industry's first retractable range hood designed and engineered for recirculating use. Model HRTX20BPTC is a 20 Inch wide range hood in a glossy powdercoated finish. The retractable design and 4 Inch height create a low profile minimalist look that seamlessly blends into your kitchen when not in use. For maximum surface coverage the retractable hood slides out as needed. Two oversized aluminum mesh filters with a carbon layer absorb grease smoke and cooking odors. This hood is equipped with two preinstalled LED light bulbs that provide convenient illumination over your cooking surface.Unlike traditional ductless ventilation the retractable hood is not convertible it's exclusively designed constructed and rigorously tested for ductless applications where there is no access to outside venting. Instead of blocking airflow with a simple baffle the Summit engineering team has created a quieter more efficient system with smarter technology. It utilizes a crossflow fan to rotate horizontally redirecting air smoothly out of the front louvers set at a slight upwards angle to ensure smoke and odors won't be directed towards the user. This maintains laminar airflow avoiding back pressure and minimizing the noise found in converted range hoods that use axial fans. Though it operates at a lower CFM its effective airflow outperforms traditional axial fans with a more efficient quiet performance. This range hood ships with a preinstalled cord and NEMA 515P plug. Also available is an ADA compliant option with separate controls to be installed according to ADA guidelines. Additional colors and sizes are available as well as convertible and ducted range hoods.
