Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
The product reviews are mixed. Some customers praise the stove's appearance, heat output, and efficiency, while others report issues with draft, airflow, and quality of construction. Proper installation, use of seasoned wood, and understanding the stove's operation seem to be important factors in determining customer satisfaction. Overall, the stove appears to work well for some customers, but others have had to make significant efforts to make it function properly.

I've been burning every day for a month now and I do have to say this stove puts out some heat. I did open up the inside air hole to 1/2" like many other have done, before my first fire. It's a large stove, so keep that in mind when buying it. My house is 1200sq st and this stove will heat every inch of it, which is amazing. The damper rod is in a horrible location right above the door. When the stove gets hot, so does this! So be careful! I've fully stoked it before bed and 8-9 hours later st...
Huge, inexpensive stove with annoying flaws.
Had this stove installed January 2020. Let’s talk obvious: it’s a really big stove, with a huge, gorgeous window. It puts off lots of heat. Just by specs, it’s not the most efficient of stoves, but it’s huge, and if you want to supplement heat for a whole floor or whole house, it can do that cheaply. The blower works great, though it’s quite loud when going full blast. You can probably get 8 hour burns if you pack it full and know exactly how to tweak it (I’ve had close a couple of times). You ...
Works, with modifications
This stove gives off decent heat… AFTER modifications are made. When originally purchased, it was added to an existing wood stove setup. It had a very long chimney on the roof side, had a brand new stove pipe, and was lit and burned properly with dry materials. The problem is that it chokes down and burns extremely slow. I understand that you need to leave the door cracked while the fire is starting, and this is true in all of my past stoves. However, it only took 10-15 minutes before the stove ...
Great stove
Many reviews here are stating that the stove does not burn well and difficult to start. You have to use seasoned wood. I use wood that has been split and stored inside for 1 year. I have no issues with starting or stove burning well. I do use the door as an additional damper allowing air flow initial start. once burning I close door and stove damper and I have a damper in stove pipe that I also use to slow air flow. It is all about the wood you are using. if wood is hissing when burning your pro...
Best purchase ever!
We are so happy to make the decision to purchase a new wood stove and I just wished we would have installed one several years ago! We moved to northern lower Michigan, which is about an hour and a half north of Saginaw. The winters here can get bitter cold. Wellmit’s October and we are getting a tad bit of snow and lots of cold and rainy weather, so to have the Summers Heat 2000 sq ft wood burning stove going is like a dream! The viewing window is the largest in its class and it’s so beautiful t...
OK for the money, made in USA.
Did a good bit of reading and watching videos of this wood stove. Made in the USA is important to me. Purchased and installed about a month ago. I really don’t like the ceramic boards inside the top and the air tubes. Just something that will have to replaced down the road. I’ve owned and burned other EPA certified stoves with a much better design and parts that were not considered consumable. The air wash system doesn’t work that great and the glass soots up, especially when you close the dampe...
Burns efficiently, but hard to start
I've been using wood stoves all my life and I've never seen a stove this hard to get started. You need to save your driest firewood for the initial fire, lay everything out perfectly, crack the door to let more air in, and even after all that it will still sometimes release smoke into the room until a good draft gets going in the chimney. The stove comes with a coupon for a free blower fan, which will probably help. Order your fan before you even bother setting up the stove. The good news is...
Please Read
To everyone that is having issues with this stove, i.e. dirty glass, smoke, no heat, fire goes out unless door is cracked open. Please understand the issue is NOT with this stove. It is the wood you are burning, it is to wet. Just because someone sold you 'Seasoned Firewood' does not mean it is seasoned. Oak for example has to be cut split and stacked for a minimum of 2 years off the ground, 3 is better, and that is protected from the rain, but still allowing air to get thru. Other woods can s...
Solid stove, great entry into EPA certified stoves
I was attracted to this stove by its large pane of glass, height and cost. England's Stove Works is known on hearth.com for making decent steel stoves for cheap here in the US. The automatic air setback works as advertised, and so far I have been impressed with the "light show" you get with its non-catalytic burn tube design. Every burn so far has left nothing but light fluffy ash, no unburnt wood or charcoal hanging around. Being a curious DIY'er I had to take the heat shields off to inspect ...
Has some irritating flaws.
1. It says that you get a free blower. Well, you do not. It does not come with the stove, as you would think it would just come with the blower in the box. NO it does not. You have to CALL a number. No one answers the #. You will be on hold indefinitely. If you go to their web site to order one, they are sold out. SO NO BLOWER. 2. The dog/ash box is TOO small. Ash will get under the stove in the pedestal. You will need an ash vac to clean it out. I normally don't write reviews unless I feel str...
