If you are buying this to lower hard water reading... think again. Does not do that. Water before install 440 ppm, after install 440 ppm. No difference. I double checked my readings with my RO unit in kitchen and the testing meter was working.

FINALLY, A METAL ONE!

I have been using these for years, and I usually have to replace the plastic housing when replacing the filter. They always crack and leak. Not this metal one. It's solid! It's worth the higher up front cost, because you will save money in the long run. As far as Sprite shower filters... they are the best. I've tried all the other ones, and they're not the same. In a household plagued by skin disorders, we can tell the difference.

It is metal not plastic

Sprite offers several models in varying colors, sizes and materials. This model is the metal filter body in chrome finish with 6 month filter. Also purchased an EZ flow new shower arm. Since it’s metal it does not crack like other reviewers noted with the plastic model. Sure this costs more than the plastic model but I don’t want to replace this or worry about cracking or leaking. SPRITE SHOWER FILTER-PURCHASED JUST FOR MY HAIR!

I bought this just for my hair - curly/blonde. We have used it just a week now but seems to have made a big difference with the way my hair feels - softer and more manageable. We have city water but it still left my hair feeling yuck as if it was not clean - almost as if we had well water - which we don't. Anyone with curly/blonde will know exactly what I'm talking about.
