Patricia Ann Fretwell bears large, double red and pink bicolored flowers in late spring, while the late summer blooms are single. The deciduous climber uses tendrils that wrap around the support structure. After blooming there will be seedheads that are attractive and remain on the vine through the balance of the summer and into the fall. Prune lightly in winter, spacing stems so blooms can open well. Grows 6 to 8 feet tall and wide in about 5 years.
