Informally known as 1 of the Iron clad rhododendrons, Nova Zembla is easy to grow and hardy even into southern portions of zone 4. It has an upright habit growing to 5 to 8 feet tall, and 5 feet to 6 feet W. Evergreen leaves stay green all Winter. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Covered with brightly colored flowers each spring beginning in April or May, depending on your zone. Hardy in zones 4 to 8. More heat tolerant than most, does well in all of zone 8.
