Obsidian has a nearly black shade of purple that adds depth to the pastel purples and pinks so common to spring. Really, whatever your mixed spring border looks like, Obsidian will heighten the drama. This bearded iris grows to a mature height of around 30-33" tall, good for the mid-border. Iris has average water needs. Avoid water-logged soils.
Each offer includes one bare root perennial rhizome
When planting, set rhizome so bottom half is below ground-level, firm well and water thoroughly
Tolerates a wide range of soils, but grows best in well-drained soil
Hardy in USDA zones 4 to 9, but mulching in colder climates is suggested. Remove mulch in the spring before growth starts
Fast growing, and establishes quickly. Grows up to a height of 33 inches tall and 18 inches wide
