Kathy Chilton Bearded Iris is an award winning iris that has bold colors that contrast wonderfully. It's received the Honorable Mention and Award of Garden Merit from the American Iris Society, Rainbow Acres, and even the renowned Wister Medal. These blooms carry a slightly spicy fragrance that's nice in bouquets. Grows up to 36 inches tall, it provides a nice moderate height to mixed borders and perennial gardens. Iris has average water needs. Avoid water-logged soils.
- Each offer includes one bare root perennial rhizome 
- When planting, set rhizome so bottom half is below ground-level, firm well and water thoroughly 
- Tolerates a wide range of soils, but grows best in well-drained soil 
- Hardy in USDA zones 4 to 9, but mulching in colder climates is suggested; remove mulch in the spring before growth starts 
- Fast growing, and establishes quick; grows up to a height of 35 inches tall and 24 inches wide
