Seems Good
I made sure to be ready to seal the top when I unwrapped it. I cleaned, stained and sealed it within 6 hours of unwrapping it. I had it face down while I attached legs, computer equipment brackets and made it what I needed. When I turned it back over I had a crack down the middle. It seems small, but still frustrating it happened when I followed the directions. I even predrilled holes for all my fasteners to make sure I wasn't going to have issues. Not a good experience
Was very paranoid about warping (first experience finishing wood) so i made very sure to condition, stain, and apply the 1st layer of poly (to all sides) within roughly 24hrs of opening up the butcher block. Applied 4 layers of poly overall to eaxh side. Doesnt seem to have mattered, the butcher block is extremely warped. High quality, solid product.
Delivery was on time as promised and packaging is excellent. It is substantial and best handled by 2 persons. It is laminated solid wood and requires a sealant to protect the surfaces. We are using it as a sewing table to absorb vibration from the machine. Much more robust than a particle board desktop. We are highly satisfied and would buy again.

Warped
Item was warped. I didn't return because I am under a deadline to finish a project. Had to add extra bracing under the cabinets to pull the countertop flat. I recommend buying a better quality countertop.

It's definitely a butcher block
Seems like a solid product after having unwrapped and finished it with multiple coats of oil-based varnish, but really only time will tell for sure as to how it holds up. Bought two- unfortunately the face side of one of them had a big dent in it like someone whacked it with a ball peen hammer or dropped it on a golf ball. Probably more a shipping issue than a product issue, but disappointing. Overall, I expected a big hunk of wood and that is what I received, and the price was good.
