Brightwell Blueberry is a rabbiteye blueberry that produces outstanding yields of deep blue, medium-sized berries. Rabbiteye blueberries perform well in the Southern US due to their abilities to withstand high heat and tolerate drought. This upright, vigorous plant ripens early to mid season. The berries are delicious for eating or can serve as a pop of bright color to ornament your yard or garden. Flowering starts in late spring to early summer. Expect an abundance of ripe fruit in mid to late summer. Green foliage is prominent in the growing season, while fall gives way to a beautiful shade of red. The Brightwell Blueberry Bush requires full sun and acidic soil. Brightwell Blueberries require 350-400 chill hours and can be planted in full sun or partial shade. Brightwells are partially self fertile and reach a mature height of 6 ft. to 8 ft. Try planting Powder Blue or Tifblue blueberries as pollinators for an even larger crop. It is hardy in USDA Zones 7-9 and is shipped in a #5 pot with a minimum height of 18 inches.
