Don't bother
I installed this gutter system 10 years ago and regret not spending the extra money for seamless metal gutters. 1. Many of the joints leaked from the start, even with the old PVC glue that was made for it. 2. The design holds the gutter away from the fascia, allowing water to flow and get trapped between them. Now I'm replacing rotting fascia that would have been better off with no gutters. 3. The bracket and funnel designs are supposed to let the gutter slide as it expands and contracts, but...
Don't waste your time or money.
I installed the severe weather vinyl gutters just over 5 years ago and they have been nothing but trouble. Nothing about this product line has any long term redeemable qualities for it's intended use. If you live in a warmer climate this gutter system will not outlast the paint on the house. I used the all the overpriced accessories for installation, installed the hangers at the manufacturers recommended 2 ft. intervals, and in the cases where I new water flow to be heavy due to valleys in my ro...
Not Recommended for extreme heat conditions.
I purchased 60 feet last Spring. Installed then in June 2012. By the end of September, the hot Arkansas sun had warped some of them to the point that when it rained, it would gush out over the top and flood the porch. Granted last year was one of the hottest on record and hotter than the norm, but they still warped in some places. No matter how much sealant you use, the connectors will still leak and drip as well. I will say they were easy to install and they looked good, but if you live somewhe...
4.875-in x 120-in K Style Gutter
The 4.875-in x 120-in K Style Gutter was a great investment for my storage shed gutters. I bought the gutters last fall for the front of the shed and now I am going to place the same gutter system on the back. The gutters compliment my already good looking storage shed I built. The gutters are easy and light weight which was great when I was putting them up. I did it by my self because they are so light weight. Used small self tapping screws every 12 inches with a 1/4 inch pitch to the down spou...
Not the right gutter for a steep metal roof
Having installed this product about six years ago, I recently had to take it down to do some other work. Because it hadn't performed well I had a seamless gutter man replace it with 6" aluminum gutters. It cost me a lot more, but was worth it. I have a steep metal roof, and the water was running down off the roof pretty fast, splashing into the vinyl gutter and over the back edge which is lower than the front edge. Because of the way the plastic hangers are designed, the gutter could not be moun...
worked well for me
I installed 60ft. at the back of my house to mainly keep the rain from washing shingle grit on my patio and in swimming pool. The job took about five hours, I took my time and did it right, with hangers every 2 feet. I only had to cut the last piece using a hack saw, which worked fine.If you use a power saw ,be very careful because this material is thin and could tear up.I left a 1/4 inch gap between each run of ten foot gutter and had no problem filling between with the tube of silicon sealant....
Okay prod but, needs a leaf guard designed for it
Installs easily enough. Snap a line going downhill slightly (see instructions), attach hangers, cut to length, and snap in place. Note: The hangers can break or twist under heavy snow and ice. Also note that the hangers get in the way of installing most leaf guard systems. When making a long run, you will have to use special vinyl adhesive to connect the pieces. Getting that adhesive to leave the tube was an adventure, but once done correctly, it hasn't leak so far (over 1 1/2 years). PLEASE LO...
seams leak, sun beat and mold growing
I put up about 40 feet of these gutters and when I get around to it in the spring - I'm going to put up aluminum in its place. These gutters leak at the seams though I've tried a number of different attempts to fix that, they are already brittle from the sun in less than 2 years, and on the underside it looks like mold or mildew is growing. They were easy to put up, but that is about it. Would not recommend to be used for anyone.
Low end product
Looks good, easy to get up, but it does not get tight up to the edge of the house due to the type of hangers you have to use. Water leaks behind them. Spend the extra cash on aluminum gutters otherwise you will just end up spending more cash on the extra parts you need for this system.
Good idea, bad design
Aside from the warping and breakage, the main problem with these gutters is the fact that the brackets hold the back edge away from the fascia, allowing water to pass through and create dribbles while rotting the wood. Unless you add a flashing extension to get the water into the gutter, go with metal that tuck under the drip edge.
