Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Centipede Grass Seed & Mulch thrives in sandy, acidic soils, and sunny areas. It combines mulch and seed to grow a thick, low-maintenance lawn. Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Centipede Grass Seed & Mulch is designed for full sun and light shade, and has a medium bladed texture with medium drought resistance. It can be used to seed a new lawn or overseed an existing lawn. For best results, apply in the late spring or early summer when air temperatures are consistently between 70°F and 90°F and the danger of frost has passed. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 5 lb. bag of Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Centipede Grass Seed & Mulch has a new lawn coverage of 665 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 2,000 sq. ft.

quick germination with some lawn soil help

Would Recommend

This product has 10% seed while some only have 1%, so read the label. This is a better value. I had irrigation system installed. I left bare stripes in my centipede lawn. I used the Corona cultivator, this seed mix and some Grass and Sod Lawn soil. I have new grass sprouting in less than 2 weeks. Very good performance. The label says expect results in 4 weeks, but I had them in just 2 weeks.

Germination and growth

I applied the seed and in about 2 weeks I had new grass sprouting up. As time is moving on it is looking better and better.

All filler, no seed

I can't believe I spent $50 on a 5 lb bag of filler. After putting the contents out, plenty of rain came with warm weather. I began monitoring for germination after the first week through the next month. absolutely nothing happened germination wise. What a waste!
