Motor Dead
Looking at the comments seems I am luck that this lasted me 7 years, but that is still unacceptable to me. 10 years I will accept with frustration. My parents dryer is almost 20 years old and still works. We used the dryer at least 4 time a week if not more. With the belt going once and me repairing it, now the motor is toast. Dryer drum needs replacing after 2 years
we bought this dryer and after about 2 years the drum started to thump. we didn't do anything since we didn't want to buy a new dryer. i've read that samsung knew they built the dryer drums poorly but didn't do anything about it just like our samsung refrigerator's ice machine broke after about a year.

Samsung dryer is just a lemon
Dryer has performed poorly since warranty expired. Either does not get clothes dry or runs too long - clothes feel like they are on fire. Now the dryer barrel does not turn, motor groans and must turn off quickly to prevent overheating. The barrel is not overloaded - the clothes have been spun quite dry by the washer. This dryer is just a lemon.

Just don’t.
Only dryer I’ve ever bought new & I had to replace the heating element three times & it’s out AGAIN. I’ve also fixed the super LOUD drum noise too I’m throwing it in the trash with the matching washer which was also garbage. I’ll NEVER buy Samsung anything ever again.

Worst purchase I ever made
I bought this dryer in 2016 thinking it would be worth the money. DO NOT BUY this dryer, it's a hunk of junk. I've had to replace and repair several features in this dyer myself thanks to YouTube. As I was gluing felt to the drum last year, I vowed this would be the last time. As expected, it failed on me AGAN. Time to go!

Despite others unfortunate situations, my dryer lasted 7 years with heavy use (we have 6 people in one house 4 kids and 2 adults). And my wife "over-drys" everything, LOL

Purchased this dryer in 2017, and it is still running just fine. The only problem it has is that the sensor dry does not work properly. I get around that by just running 40 minute timed cycles. No problems!

Heating element and/or thermal fuse keeps blowing
Dryer has worked well for 4 years, then stopped heating. I did all my research and ultimately replaced the entire heating element. After 6 months, the thermal fuse blew, replaced it again - blew 2x more times. Checked and cleaned all the exhaust/lint functions - all clean. Replaced the thermal fuse, blew again. never again
saw someone call this thing a cheese grater because it tore apart clothes. i was having the same issue with towels. thought it was cheap towels i was buying as animal bedding. this thing continually needed to be hit on the side to make work, and finally just stopped and burned clothes one day. even small loads never got dry in first 139 minute run. only maybe 6-7 years old and i'm throwing it to the curb.
