The smooth, protective finish releases copper to prevent fouling below the waterline. Suitable for both fresh and saltwater, Boat Bottom Paint can be applied on fiberglass boats like powerboats, racing boats or other boats that are regularly hauled and cleaned. For best results, launch boat within 60 days of painting for best antifouling performance.
Protective coating prevents buildup or barnacles, algae and other marine growth
Apply to fiberglass, wood or steel surfaces below the waterline
Formulated to slowly release copper to prevent fouling below the waterline
Can be recoated after 4 hours; boats can be launched after 16 hours

purchased 1 qt rust-o-leum black bottom paint. After opening can and pouring it out, the color was blue not black. Label did say black. not happy. For the price, color should be correct.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband used this on our 10ft Jon boat. Product goes a long way. It must be mixed well and I cannot stress that enough!! Mix it very well. Seemed to be clumpy but given what it’s used for I guess that is to be expected. My husband was happy with it so it must have been what was needed!

The application was pretty smooth, using a regular bristle paint brush. we used tape to paint a straight application. It dried fairly quick in our garage.
