Good for reducing heat from the sun

This screen does an excellent job of reducing heat gain from the sun applied to the outside of east, west or south facing windows. It is very strong fabric. I am disappointed that when the sun's glare is reflecting off the fabric, visibility through the fabric is marginal, but much better when the sun is not on it. This stuff is great. I had old aluminum screens on some west windows that looked old and tired but also let a lot of sun in heating up my front room to uncomfortable. The screen was easy to work with and look way better than i thought they would but the sun heat they knock down is amazing. I thought it may be too dark for looking out but they just make the windows look slightly tinted from the inside.

Wow! It's true, it WORKS!

This product is impressive, and it's the real deal. I am not sure how long it will hold up, but it does make a huge difference on heat. I am very impressed. It's like having window tinting on a car. Solar sceen fabric

I am using the 80% black sun tex solar sceen fabric. It is heavier than regular screen it is dark as expected. It is too early in the season to know if it is effective in cutting the heat from the summer sun in my south facing windows in the mts of NC. I used the recommended 0.125 spline which worked fine on my screens. Product is amazing!

Am amazed by difference with screen door done . Had my doubts it wold block 80 sun but it truly does. The living room that used to be blinding most of the day is no longer bright. Not counting the fact that the metal door does not get buring hot any more. Turned out so good did one for the back door too! Also love the fact that standing outside the door people can not see in. Looks great!

Perfect. Keeps the sun out and replaces the black solar screen used on the other windows. In the pictures it's used as an indoor roll up screen so I was a little nervous about how thick it might be and whether or not it could be used in the 5/16" screen frame. Used the .125 spline and it worked fine.

Beautiful!

I have black sunscreen on the upstairs windows but my wife thought the black on the downstairs windows would look like holes in the house. I found this tan colored screen and used it on the downstairs windows and it really goes well with the tan brick. Like I said,...beautiful!

Screened porch roof: Strong, clear, blocks sun

Used this for the roof of my screened porch after a windstorm broke the old plastic roof that had been in place for many years. The material is very strong (doesn't tear easily), is easy to see through (we have oak trees above that we could not see through the plastic roof), and blocks a good deal of the sun. Blocks the heat, not the view

Last summer I tried the Phifer Charcoal Super Solar Screen (90% blocking), and although we could see outside on a sunny day, it made the room too dark (mounted outside covering entire window). This (80% blocking) cuts the heat and glare while still allowing a good view to the outside. During the day people outside cannot see in, but at night with lights on we need to close the drapes for privacy. I plan to buy more in the future.

Superb at reducing heat transfer

I live in Ft Worth, TX and I replaced some 15 year old sun screens and made some for the windows that never had them. I also made one for my glass back door that faces west. There is an 18 degree difference in the temperature as measured on the wood floor between where there is screen and there isn’t. There is a remarkable difference in the temperature in the house. As a side benefit, they give me some privacy too.
