Pentair 59052900Z Locking Ring Assembly is part of a system that evenly distributes filtered water across the sand bed to maintain proper filtration efficiency and prevent channeling. It prevents sand from escaping into the return plumbing by acting as a slotted internal strainer at the base of the sand filter.
