A good, heavy built feeder!
A good, heavy built feeder! It doesn’t do well with feeds that contain a lot of powder such as rice bran. Other than that i am pleased with my purchase!

Survived a hurricane
I purchased 1 of the 450lb ranch series back in the spring to use for feeding my chickens and to test it out as I plan to order several more over the next several years, I live in WNC and when hurricane Helene Hit us back Sept 27th I had my ranch feeder set up and in use, not only did it survive the devastation helene left behind, it still works! I cleaned it up and set it back up and it went right back to operation, it was vital in helping me feed my hens while I was out volunteering and feedin...

My first impression of the
My first impression of the feeder on setup was good, had no trouble with assembly. Then I took it to the field and added the feed, the feed mix I planned to run in it will not gravity feed out of the auger. I was also disappointed with how hard it is to get the lid on. With 2 people we got it but when I was alone no luck.

Feeder not feeding out properly
While the feeder is nice and finally got it put together and seems quite durable I’m having difficulty with getting the auger to properly dispense feed because the feed gets clogged and doesn’t fall properly. I don’t know if it’s something I did wrong but I would love an explanation on how I can fix this or how I can make it work.

Food not feeding out
The timer aspect doesn't always work because the feed clogs up in the feeder. Having trouble figuring out how to adjust it.

Easy set up
It’s been one week since I putted it together. It seems to be working good and setting it up was easy.. I only wish the battery slot was bigger.

Flimsy but useful
The Moultrie Ranch Feeder has flimsy legs and chute but is sold at a great price point. With some reinforcements for the legs and after staking down the feed trough, it seems to work fine.
