Bad design - lint screen

The lint screen is impossible to clean in this model. There is no way to get in there with tools, I can't even get my fingers in there. And they lined the edge of the screen with felt so the lint sticks to it, even after using a screen brush I have to pick off each piece bit by bit. I hate this dryer, I'm constantly worried that a fire is going to start because I have no idea how much lint might be trapped down in there that I can't get to.

Long dry times and no dryer light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dryer takes significantly longer than my previous front load dryer. Considering how much moisture is spun out in the washer, the dry time seems excessive. For convenience, no light in the dryer is a drawback.

Love our Maytag Set!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love our Maytag Washer and Dryer set! We had our previous Maytag set for 13 years and had no issues for the first 11-12 years. Come year 13 the sensor in the dryer was hit or miss. Instead of paying to have that fixed, we figured 13 years was a good run and time for a new Maytag set. Very pleased once again! We’ve had our new set for about 2-3 weeks now.

Awful.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought this item 4 months ago and it will no longer drain properly. There is no convenient access to clean the drain filter. You have to take the top, the front, the control panel and the door off to access it. That is insane. We will be returning it if possible and replacing it with something that is usable.

Nice dryer

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) So far so good. I tried the power boost just the other day on the dogs bedding and was impressed on how quickly everything was dry. I am still getting used to not having a light in the dryer, my old one did have one but it’s not a deal breaker. One issue I have is that even on full volume I can’t hear the completion buzzer from upstairs (the laundry room is in the basement).

Maytag fan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a longtime fan of Maytag appliances! My washers, dryers and refrigerators have never let me down. My newest laundry pair have been great from the start and I love the front loaders. Getting the wet items out of the washer is so much easier. The multi option controls makes sure your items get the care they need.

Failed after 2 years, doesn’t fully dry.

Dryer was okay, I had to always bypass the sensing loads because they would not dry and were always ending the cycle wet, even on smaller loads. After 2.5 years the heating element failed and the stupid machine is going to cost hundreds to fix. Maytag used to be such good brand, what a shame.

Looks great-Proven durability

The only thing I miss is the buzzer on my old Maytag dryer had when finished, a small criticism considering I got 18 years out of my old dryer and it still is in service to a needy family! I know my new Maytag will last that long too.

Good so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far this dryer does the job, I do notice I have to add time to the dryer or it's not fully dry on some cycles. Trying to learn all of the settings yet. I do hate that I have to hold down the power button for 3 seconds to start, I should be able to turn this off. Missing Key Functions

We've had this a little over a year. Found that the absence of a light is more than an inconvenience. Also the lint catcher catches only about 70% of the lint, making it a potential fire hazard. Only use two of the settings, as presets don't dry adequately. My 20 year old dryer had more features. Should have done more research before purchasing this model.
