Cheap drywall anchors break

When installing, turning a long screw pulls an anchor tight against the back side of the drywall. The first anchor I attached broke - just snapped off - as I snugged the anchor up. Thinking I had ham-fisted it, I started to pre-snug the next anchor in my hands before putting the unit into the wall. That anchor broke in my fingers. And then it happened again. Do NOT buy this product!!

Do not waste your money on this product. Otherwise you will have to spend money on a seperate housing. The problem that I have is that the plastic mounting hardwar is CHEAP and broke during the installation. Specifically, the bracket is supposed to self close while you turn the screw. Good product, TERRIBLE instructions

The instructions are terrible but no, you DON'T need an electrical box to install these as they come with drywall anchors. For everyone else like me trying to cipher them out, here they are: 1. The terrible instruction card is your template. That's what you draw around and cut out of your drywall. 2. Unscrew the plate and take it entirely off. Snap the anchors to the cable access straps. absolutely hated this item :(((

It was easy to cut the squares in the sheetrock.. but then I could not get the cord through the middle of this product! my cord was a 3 prong power cord for the TV. I had to leave the middle part off so it just looks like a hole now. Also, maybe it's just my lack of how-to knowledge... but I could not figure out how to mount the brackets to screw and tighten this to the sheetrock. I gave up after a while of frustration. Terrible Quality

The tabs, used to secure the kit, snap off in the wall and the plate becomes useless. Was getting ready to mount an 86" TV on the wall and had to make it work. If they would include a few drywall screws and few pieces of scrap wood, this kit would be great.... JK. Seriously, this kit is terrible.

Plate pops apart

I purchased two sets of these today. I have used a similar wall plate before with a separate low voltage ring with no problems, however today I noticed this kit claimed to be a all in one unit. I snapped it together as per instructions and installed it in the wall. When I tried to pull the cables gently through the opening, it all popped apart. I had to take it out of the wall to reassemble. It did this on all of them I installed at least once. Good thing I am a very patient individual.

Great cover plate for multiple hidden cables

This is great for a cover plate for multiple cable “hides”. Used for hidden, low voltage (Ethernet; HDMI) cables through “smurf tube” in wall for my Smart TV; Streaming Device; and HDMI cabling. The look is a LITTLE unusual (“brush” opening), but sensible when using multiple cables. (Single cable?, maybe grommet-style cover plate?) Would definitely recommend.

Just buy and old work box and wall plate

The brushes and wire holder pieces popped apart and fell into the wall. I was able to retrieve the wire holder piece but not the brushes. $18 down the drain. Why are the brushes designed to snap apart away?? Save yourself the expense and aggravation. Just buy an “old work” box and wall plate and skip this disaster.

Junk - Spend a little more and get better product

It's not often that I give such a low rating on any product but this kit is junk. It is made of cheap ABS type flexible plastic and despite my best efforts I could not get the box to pull up flush with the drywall. The instructions are poor at best, just a little card with an illustration of the finished product. If you are expecting something like the blue electrical boxes with the tabs for remodel work, these are nothing like them. They are cheap ($14) at the time of this writing for a reas...
