Don't Bother if your door has a deadbolt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After an unfortunate lock out event, I ordered this handle set to prevent such problems in the future and as a nice add on to my Ring system. However what I discovered during installation is that if you have a deadbolt, it won't work. Won't stay on line

This product will not stay connected to my Hubitat Elevation C7 hub. I have several other Z-Wave devices and all of them work perfectly. so, it is not a hub issue. Furthermore, it is a blasted nuisance to have to run a long network cable from my normal hub location to my back door in order to exclude and then re-include this thing. Taking the head unit to the hub is a possibility but with my huge fingers, connecting and disconnecting the cable plug is not easy, and those wires look VERY easily b...

Does not work outside in a rainy climate

We replaced our similar smart locks with this Z-Wave and it didn't even last a year outdoors. We live in a more humid climate.

Great lock, doesn't work properly with Z-Wave

So I purchased this lock and it works great for the majority of the time, entering the code to enter the garage works great but when I try to add it to my Z-Wave network for remote control, it adds but doesn't register properly. Kwikset's customer service troubleshooting asked me to exclude it, then include it, and other stuff that I've already tried that they have to "verify" is not functioning. does not play well with damp environments

this is the third lock I'm ordering over the past 5 yrs. the first one was trashed when I washed the door. the second during a rainstorm. i love everything about the lock save this defect, if kwikset could find a way to make the electronics more water resistant, it would rate 5 stars

Not easy to link to Alexa.

Still trying to get it connected to Alexa. NOT user friendly to get figured out.

Easy to install, rekey to match my other locks, program and setup the ZigBee with SmartThings!! I wish I’d done this a while ago. In addition to controlling the lock, you can see the lock status and battery level in the app.

Worked OK for 2 yrs. Now batteries deplete fast

Bought this Z-Wave three years ago. Worked well until this past year. The batteries now deplete within a month - and getting worse. Just had the batteries show 1% on Z-Wave controller. Changed the batteries, still 1%. Changed the batteries again, still 1%, Changed again. still no battery improvement.
