Have been through 2 already

I like the compressor a lot, that is when it's working. I have bought 2 of these units and had to return both of them. The contactor (the part that actually kicks on power when the switch tells it too) keeps getting fried on the primary wire. once would have been a fluke but two doing the same thing is a pattern. Great warranty and service from the Kobalt/Lowes team, I just don't have confidence in this model any longer.

Not super quiet, but still pretty quiet

I was looking for a replacement to my failed single stage belt drive compressor. I only clocked 400 runtime hours over 15 years on my belt drive compressor, which needed oil changes every few years regardless of runtime, so I wanted something simpler that still had decent SCFM for using as a compressed air gun and with automotive tools. Quiet

This thing is extremely quiet. Fills quick, and easy to adjust the pressure, which also locks in place so it isnt accidentally bumped. Quarter turn drain valve is a nice touch, compared to the screw style im used to.

Solid and capable air compressor

I knew it was a little on the small side to blow out my sprinkler system. It works okay for that if you allow it to charge before going to the next zone. The air compressor is quiet as advertised. It is a bit on the heavy side, so make sure you are able to comfortably lift this weight if you plan to load it into a vehicle for transportation. Great air compressor that's also quiet

I've been using it inside my house for the past couple of weeks to drive an air chisel that I got from another tool store that only requires 4cfm. This has been working great! The compressor is pretty quiet and keeps up with my pace of using the air chisel. I've been using it to rip up 12x12 inch ceramic tiles and the grout under them. Now I'm using it to shear off the old linoleum that was underneath all that. I'm very pleased

Good capacity and recovery time, and really quiet.

The capacity and recovery time are average. Not overly impressive, but not bad either. The thing I like the most is how quiet this compressor is. Compared to my last compressor, which used to jump my customers out of their skin when it came on, this thing hums along so quietly that you can continue a conversation with it running. Poor quality

Had the compressor for 5 months. Compressor would not hold pressure; would go down over several days. This then stopped and started randomly. Then tool pressure gauge froze at 60 psi. Would not move. Returned to Lowes under RMA from Kobalt.

Quiet Compressors are the way to go

I got this to have a larger compressor and to have one that wouldn't annoy other people in my condo neighborhood. I got it on sale, but it is definitely worth the higher price in my opinion. I am planning to do some paint spraying so I got the bigger tank, but because these are so quiet, I could recommend getting a smaller one and letting it run a bit more. Time will tell about the durability and longevity.

Defective Regulator Valve

Lugged this 100+ lb behemoth home, unpacked it, set it up, turned it and once the tank pressure reached the desired level, I went to adjust the tool pressure. ...and found myself with a regulator knob that just spins free and doesn't actually actuate the regulator. The result is a fully charged tank and 0 psi tool pressure, making it completely unusable. Sure, thre are YouTube videos on how to repair the faulty regulator in Kobalt compressors--but I bought a brand new device to avoid this sort...

Not Quiet as Advertised

I have the 2 gallon Quiet Tech compressor. I'm happy with the noise level, had hoped for the same with the 10 gallon, but I found it to be much louder. Both machines list noise level "Quiet (70 decibels or below)". This is simply false. I measured 78 decibels filling the tank, and 84 decibels when the compressor shuts off with the pressure relief valve triggered. Much to my disappointment, I returned this machine due to the inaccurate noise specs.
