Let me list them in importance to me. 1. Adjustable work height 2. Takes up MINIMAL STORAGE space in truck, in van, in shop, or job site 3. Well-built and sturdy and will last a lifetime which means "good investment" 4. PORTABLE, PORTABLE, PORTABLE, easy to set up/takedown 5. Individually adjustable legs for uneven surfaces or mild hill for a sturdy work surface Adjustable work height is very important for 2 reasons, safety and fatigue. Having your work surface at the proper he...
Great solid sawhorse
When I first pulled it out of the box using the installed plastic handle i noticed it was heavier than the typical of the mill sawhorse. Each set of legs were easily released from their storage position by pushing a button on either side of the housing. Sides of the housing appeared flexible and currently hold the legs securely . I'm concerned after numerous uses the push button may not hold adequately but currently they work fine. The locking spreader mechanism on the leg are well built and sec...
Poorly constructed using cheap parts and methods.
I bought a set of these back in July and they were great to work on for a few months. But then they started to show the cheapness that was ushered into them during manufacturing. Nearly every one of the tiny screws that secure the parts to the horses fell out due to being installed incorrectly. The screws that keep the legs attached to the pivot were gone. No threadlocker on any of the screws that holds it together. On top of that they are undersized for saw horses. I ended up having to replace ...
In my opinion, Kobalt has become synonymous with quality. I expected and received two quality saw horses built by Kobalt. These saw horses have a width of 42” and an adjustable working height from 25.5 inches to 33”. The push button adjustment on each leg makes it easy to adjust the working height. I've had older saw horses which required the removal of a bolt to adjust each leg. Slots at each end of these saw horses can be used to insert 2”X 4” boards and convert to a work bench or table. A lab...
Broke right there in the store!
I was really looking forward to using these. They look nice, and it's a good idea. That said, when I grabbed two to take to the checkout counter, the handle on one of them broke loose and the sawhorse dropped to the floor. One of the fasteners came off. This sucker is HEAVY, so I'm glad my foot wasn't under it. Otherwise, I'd possibly be in the hospital right now. I thought about just grabbing another one, but I was kind of disgusted with the fact that the handle broke to begin with. That shoul...
Unbeatable product
These(set of 2) are to replace my plastic sawhorses which are bulky and flimsy. The product is claimed to handle 1300 pounds individually and 2800 pounds when joined by using 2x4's. When unfolded they extend to 42". My driveway is steep, that 's where the adjustable legs show their functionality and let me have a level workbench. The smooth movement of the legs makes adjustments a breathe. I wish unfolding the legs was just as smooth. I feel like they need to be broken in before I totally feel c...
good intentions, but pure junk
While the concept is good, the performance is terrible. To start with, very wobbly. After a couple of weeks they became very hard to open and close. The integral fold out 2x4 bracket jams when trying to open and close the legs. Then pins they pivot on are too small of a diameter and have already bent and broke. I replaced them with nuts and bolts but the same problem. After a few weeks you should not have to modify the product. I should have returned them, but too late now. My crew won't even use...
poor quality
Bought 2 of theese, one is fine so far the other broke in 2 areas. The plastic handle broke while trying to move the saw horse, but prior to that the leg mechanism broke. It was attached with a cheap metal rod and 2 flimsy screws. One screw and the metal rod broke. While I can replace the plastic handle with a nylon strap to improve quality, the metal rod and small screws seem to present a more difficult problem , as there is not space to allow for a thicker rod or stronger screws without alot o...
Good Idea, Poor Quality
I was very excited to get these as a gift last year although that didnt last long. My saw horses are very flimsy and hard to get open. When you unlock the legs and open them you have to hold them open or they slam back shut. Also while holding them open you have to try to flip it right side up without it slamming shut and catching a finger(Like it did to me today..) Then when mine are upright they are still wobbly. I do like the adjustable legs but since mine are wobbly it defeats the purpose. ...
Very well made
Each saw horse weighs about 20 lbs. so it is very stable. The adjustable legs are easy and allow use on uneven surfaces. Also the flip down supports for sheet goods is very welcome. The top has holes for attaching a cross plank if desired. At this price they are worth every dollar! My only issues that I would like to see changed are the handles will tear out with a little use. Put a notch or something, as these are very weak solution. Other folding saw horses have options as using having...
