Keeps a sharp edge. I know, I know, I should be using a wooden mallet. But, you use what you have to. I had a ball peen hammer available, so I used that. The chisel's head showed no evidence of using the wrong tool (ball peen hammer).

They aren't flat
None of the 3 chisels are flat. It took a belt sander and hours of sharpening on my water stones to get them remotely flat.
Not flat at all
Took a square to all three chisels and not one was flat, not even the first inch. After an hour on my coarse water stones they STILL weren't flat, so the steel must be very hard.
