Best Top-Layer Insulation for a R49-Plus Attic
Covering insulation should be resilient and light-weight. Then achieve tight fit with shape conforming to available space, without trimming widths. We don't want puzzle pieces when rearranged someday for access. We certainly don't want loose-fill topping floor joists. 24" width fills well parallel to @24" trusses. I'm so glad that pretty white JM fiberglass is again less expensive that heavy, friable stone-wool batts.

Worked well for what i was doing. used it in a metal garage building. Used spray adhesive to hold it in place until i put up the drywall.

Easy to Use
Easy to use and install. Size of the individual bats resulted in minimal cutting in some areas. I used this as a base layer of attic insulation in my newly constructed garage (rafters were constructed with 2x4 beams). Spacing and thickness was perfect. Downside: Only available in a 4 pack of bales, covering 750 square feet. Would be real convenient if they were available in single bales.

I had to order 4 Batts of imsulation when i only needed 2. Returned two with no problem, but seemed like too much effort

The edges of the insulation were not very strong and separated too easy from the paper face of the insulation.
