What Customers Are Saying
The product has mixed performance in removing stripped or broken screws. While it works well for some users, many report issues with the drill bits breaking or failing to penetrate the screw, and the extractor frequently snapping or getting stuck. Proper technique is crucial, but even then success is not guaranteed, especially for harder, more corroded screws. The product seems to work best for softer, less stubborn screws.

Wasn’t effective
Thought this would work to drill out a stuck screw, but it just stripped the head and didn’t grab the screw. Maybe I wasn’t using it as intended.

Hello, I appreciate your feedback on the 53701 Hanson 2-Pack Carbon Steel 2-in Screw Extractor and I'm sorry to hear that it wasn´t effective.

I tried it on a snapped M5-0.8 x 18mm screw that had been installed with Loctite on the ignition coil on my Craftsman chain saw. Drilled a hole in the screw, tapped in the extractor, got a good grip, but it snapped with very little torque applied to it. It's a very small extractor that will not tak...

Good but Things you need to know
Nowhere on the package does it tell what size extractor to use with what size screw. That is hidden on the website. I suspect many people with problems are using the wrong extractor. Also it is important to use the right size bit which will be an oddball size so the combo pack with bit is worthwhile. Since an extractor covers a range of sizes, you may have to drill much deeper than you expected. If it is not getting a bite, drill deeper, try, drill deeper, try again. At the right depth, it will ...
