Hotpoint 8.8-cu ft Chest Freezer ( White )

Box delivered on it's side

The employee didn't follow the arrow instructions on the box. It was on it's side, which is incorrect. I had to let the freezer sit unplugged for 24 hours to let the coolant settle. Also, when I unboxed it, there is a dent near the knobs on the outside, and several dents on the bottom of the freezer. Very disappointing when you buy something new. We do like the freezer, it has lots of space and is quiet.

Falsely advertised

This unit does not match specs on website. There is not an LED inside. Temperature dial is numbered 1-7 with no indication of which is freezer or refrigerator mode. Don't bother looking in the " owners manual", there isn't one, just a "warnings/safety" pamphlet in several languages. It does not have a lock. There are only 2 baskets, not 3. The inside is not an "easy to clean white interior", it's a textured silver colored finish. The only thing Lowe's got right on this is the camouflage.

BEST LITTLE FREEZER

The absolute best little freezer! We are going through Hurricane Helene right now in NC. For almost 6 days, without power, we only opened the freezer twice. Everything in there stayed rock solid frozen and the freezer was only about half full. Works great!

We've had this freezer long enough now to be sure of its performance. And we love it! We live in an RV and have had to keep it outside, under cover. Even in these latest days of very hot weather, it works beautifully, keeping our food well frozen. And, after several months, no ice buildup.

Hotpoint 8.8 cu ft Chest Freezer

Excellent choice for a "mature" couple: size is manageable for us to reach into for stored items as well as organization/cleaning; not so large that we would lose track of purchased food products; and affordable both in initial price as well as operational costs. This unit replaces a 13 cu ft upright freezer that had multiple problems (repairs) and ultimately had to be replaced. The size easily accommodates a small family...especially if you shop sales and are not trying to hoard too much food...

bad customer service

Item was delivered promptly, but was damaged and had to be returned. The item could not be exchanged since it was out of stock. The return process involved spending a long time on the phone, being transferred and put on hold several times. I will be re-ordering from a different company, and will think twice before ordering from Lowes in the future.

Great Hotpoint Chest Freezer

This 8.8 cubic foot Hotpoint chest freezer is a good sized chest freezer that replaced a 7 cubic foot Danby chest freezer that performed beautifully for 15 years. Danby discontinued our particular model so we had to find a replacement that would fit a specific area in our kitchen. I (ME SHOULD OF GOT ONE A SIZE BIGGER. I do like it tho. Small but good for the space it fits in. There are two sliding racks across the top that are just perfect.

Nice Freezer, Shame About the Baskets

This freezer got cold very fast, about 2 hours after we leveled it and plugged it in. I like that the drain hole, power light and on/off and temperature controls are on the front. I am also very pleased that there is a covering over the back where the motor is accessed. I have cats and worry about them going places they shouldn't. Purchased NOV 10th. Arrived a few days later. Put freezer in place in kitchen, plugged it in, turned it on. Very spacious with roomy baskets inside. In 24 hrs it was frosty cold. It worked great for two weeks. Then started hearing two consecutive clickong sounds once every minute or so. About 1.5 wks ago, it lost its ability to keep items contained frozen.
