RECOMMENDED USAGE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLOOD CONTROL: Remove any debris from the areas where the sand bags will be placed; fill each sand bag 1/2 to 3/4 full with your material (sand, dirt, gravel) and then tie at the top; place sand bags outside and against the entry points of your home or business (such as doors and garages) to form a wall; orient the sand bag wall roughly parallel to the water flow; stack the sand bags like bricks, stacking the bag right in the middle of the 2 bags beneath it; tamp, flatten, and alternate the bags.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is actually something needed when you live in florida, and it's hurricane season. These are a heavier plastic that can be filled with sand or even backyard dirt. There is an attached twist tie to keep the bag sealed, and the bag is thick enough whereas sand or dirt will not sift through, as we already tested sand in the bag. I will be using this on my patio, as it tends to get flooded.
