People are not wrong, whoever named the paint is

To say that someone picking this color with the word "black" in it and expecting it to be black is the one who has made an error is silly. Sherwin Williams calling a purple paint black makes no sense. They could have called it Bohemian purple and not cost people tons of money and time. People are not saying the color is ugly, they are upset it's not actually black. iT's nOt sUpPoSeD tO bE...*face palm*

Beware it's not black

I got this in an eggshell to paint 2 nightstands. Went right over a white primer and the coverage was decent but it will need a 2nd coat for sure and maybe even a 3rd on some areas. However, BEWARE it is not a true black it's a very deep purple and I wasted a lot of time using it. I plan to return it and get an actual black.

Not true to sample

Super disappointed in this color. It turned out very different than the sample and is a dark navy blue in our super naturally well lit dining room. Now I have to completely change plans as this was supposed to be an accent to another color I wanted to use. Having a hard time trusting any of the samples now

Naval get tired of this!

Used this as accent wall in Den in new home and last home for TV wall. Paired with Jonquil (a nautical looking deep yellow) on other walls with Canvas Tan for trims and doors. Beautiful deep color that shows off wood floors and other colors well. Plays very nice with soft white tables and slip covered furniture. Get lots of compliments. Coverage was great but did use 2 coats as I always do to obtain truest color possible. Would add photos but all converted to HEIC format from jpeg and can't uplo...

A Must Have!!!

The Delft Pottery Interior Paint is FANTASTIC!!! This shade of blue has an executive look and warm feel to it. It is very pleasing to the eye. I painted my interior door inside and outside my unit. It brings a richness to my floor atmosphere. My neighbors love this color so much that we have all agreed to paint the rest of our floor apartment door unit this color. Not really black--it is purple

I bought this in a flat paint and was shocked (and so was the guy at the paint desk)to see that the paint looked purple in the can. When he dried the sample on the top of the can it looks black. Took it home and painted and sure enough it is a deep, deep purple. In low light it looks black but it is purple. I like it and it works in the room I used it in but if you want a just black don't buy this one.

Definitely not a true black

Very pretty color, but if your looking for a true black this isn’t it, it pulls a brown and purple undertone .. I painted a sample next to my favorite black (tricorn black) and it looks pretty but it’s as I stated not a true black. In picture bohemian black is top color, tricorn black is bottom color

Applies like a dream...

I painted a cedar beam in my vaulted living room ceiling... and boy, it is beautiful! The satin black is perfect and glided on so nice! I'm going to continue the theme on my interior doors and trim and cannot wait for the dramatic affect!

people are wrong, not this paint

I have bought this severl times. I LOVE it. For the reviews complaining its not black…. Well, its not supposed to be. Look up your color wheel for exact colors…. This is not black but its stunning and perfect.

Gorgeous!

This color is striking and you never tire of it. I had an accent wall in my bedroom painted this color in my former apartment. My headboard is white velvet and I had all mirrors with gold trim on the wall. Loved it!
