Essential Shade
This Sherwin Williams paint is a great neutral value that does sit on the darker end of the value scale. In other words, Essential Grey is a lower value and has blue a blue undertone because of its darker shade (or low value). It does not have a purple undertone at all. I was happy with my decision because I looked at the color cards provided by Sherwin Williams at Lowe’s and the paint turned out exactly the same as the color card provided. THe color is soft, and very classy. White trim and crownmoulding completes the look. The light in the room has to do ALOT on how it looks. It has a purplelish under tone. Not able to see on the room i painted. But i know, if the light hits it diferent. You can see a little bit the under tone.
Essential Shade
Bought this shade for my whole basement because it looked light enough in the brochure. Started with my son's bedroom; it looks awful! Not only is it not light but the walls look purple! Not anything like what I was going for. Make sure You buy a sample of any paint your thinking of buying; NOW I'M STUCK WITH A 5GALLON PAIL. The only time it really looks grey is when the lights are off.
