Fantastic when it works!

This microwave has a very large cooking area. It heats evenly and cooks quickly! We are able to shorten the cooking time on nearly everything we use it for. It has great features and we love cooking with it! There are, though, two drawbacks. The first one is minor but annoying. The door. The door has no handle so it must be pushed closed resulting in fingerprints. We are constantly wiping it off. You also can't ease the door shut without a handle. Hiccup at first, but GE resolved the big problem.

At first, I found an annoying feature where the GE Profile microwave door would always lock. Even after cooking was finished, you had to press two buttons to unlock and open the door... every time. After I raised the issue with GE, I was told to refer to page 17 of the manual to turn off the feature by pressing 7 - 9 - 0, and it worked. Great! If you add the trim kit, this product matches perfectly with the GE 27" Smart Built-In Convection Single Wall Oven (also stainless steel and dark gray). ...

Wow, I’m sure the microwave is great. The experience of buying it and having it installed was horrific. I have a built-in area for the microwave and they said only one microwave. They sent somebody out to measure and I guess the guy that measured never put it into the computer so a week later when I went in there was nothing. Poor design changes from older model

We have only had GE Profile stove, oven, built in microwave so when the microwave went out we went straight to the GE Profile and are disappointed with the changes - 1-inside is like stainless steel which makes it darker and hard to see in the microwave; 2-the buttons are smaller; 3-there is no stainless steel trim kit available so just got black and the fingerprints are unbelievable and almost impossible to get rid of without a lot of effort. waste product

Looks cheap. no stainless steel option. It does not fit previous same GE microwave built in mounting kit. new one $240 for mounting kit is half the price of microwave itself. that does not look correct. Not at all backward compatability.it looks like making profit out of it. Microwave plus kit total price. 489+240= $730.

Hopeful

I do like my new microwave; however, I liked the one just like it that was purchased with our newly built home in February of 2023. This microwave had to be replaced because the magnetron failed. One should not have to replace a microwave after less than 3 years of use. The only reason I bought this new GE microwave is because it matched my other GE appliances. Hopefully, this microwave will last many years longer.

Magnetron failures

The product itself is great, except for the fact I'm now replacing it a second time in 6 years. Seems like every 3 years the magnetron fails, unless that's truly a microwaves lifespan which I find hard to believe. Replacements don't come easy as it's built in above our stove with a specific trim kit.

Semi satisfied

The installation service was fantastic. The controls are a little bit annoying. I have to choose preset times for cooking rather than just keying in the hours or minutes or what I want to do. And I absolutely dislike having to hit the cancel button to open the door. For me, that’s a waste of my energy. I love the size of the microwave. The color works nicely in my house, but if I had it to do over, I would find a way to get a microwave with better controls. Thank you for asking.

Great Replacement

It's been a great replacement so far, of the discontinued GE built-in we had. It wasn't a huge change in looks, and functionality which is nice! It's much more quiet during operation.

Not happy

I have been trying to get a new microwave installed after purchasing. I began my purchase Jan 20, 2026. I Now have the proper one (I hope). But I was told to call installer, it is a real mess up by the store. Employees in the appliance dept are NOT service oriented. I was there today, not a soul in the dept, what a shame!
