New Ge undercover microwave

This is third GE undercounter microwave in 25 years. Have always been pleased with product. Maybe will take sometime to get used to and maybe last one was 900 watts and not 800 I'm not sure. Does fine with most things but not happy with how it cooks popcorn. My old one would pop nearly all the kernels except 5 or six in just under 3 minutes. Major Defects

Not sure if what I got is a lemon... the package was re-sealed when received. The mounting holes (to mount under the cabinet) is not straight, the right side is slanted. The door does not close properly, I need to push on the top part of the door to close. It won't close if pushed in the middle nor bottom. the plate seems to be too close to the door not really in the middle which might be the reason for the door. Not worth the price. This is the last GE I will purchase.

Good Microwave Oven but...

GE profile microwaves with wifi

I cannot believe all these five-star reviews just because of the way a microwave looks and fits. What about the way it operates? We cannot use this microwave unless we have a certain size cup to heat water or a certain size bag of popcorn to pop our popcorn. In what world is this normal? I wouldn't have another one of these microwaves if you gave it to me.

Cheap press panel controls

I was prepared to accept the small size and low power to have a cabinet depth microwave. The touch panel is not a touch panel - it's a press panel used on low- cost microwaves. Too much force required. Does not come across as a Profile level appliance from GE. If it's used on the counter, which I eventually won't, the unit tilts forward with the slightest pressure on the open door.

Too wide to fit into a 24-inch space/bad display

We purchased this microwave as a replacement for a 2010 GE Spacemaker that worked well for us for 15 years until the keypad control failed. We liked the 2010 model so chose the new model as a replacement. The original Spacemaker was hung below a 24-inch wide cabinet using the specified mounting kit. I like it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great microwave. However The contrast of color (barely light grey) on the labeled buttons against black background makes it barely readable. I have to squint or put my glasses on, whereas the previous microwave and my present GE oven, the letters are in bright white against a black background which makes it clear and readable. Engineers, pls keep this minor detail in mind. Thanks

Display panel hard to see

When we tried using it, we found the display panel hard to use in regular lighting and could not use it in dim lighting. We used a flashlight to see the numbers/layout. Disappointed.

Replaced a 20+ years old JEM31SF01 which finally failed on us. This was the only oven that would fit in our cabinet so choice was limiited. Price was high and quality , design and performance are not nearly as good as the old oven was. The control panel is very difficult to read unless you have bright lights on. The power is less than the old oven and the light is so dim that you can barely see inside. The door latch is not smooth and it doesn't have the feel of quality when opening and closing....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although this microwave oven is not as big as my last microwave/convention oven, I am pleased that (1) I have a microwave that will fits into the cubicle that my last countertop with built-in capability GE Profile microwave oven was in; and (2) that the controls are basically the same.
