I know it's been a year since we bought our new home. My wife normally does the laundry, but she's not here currently. So to stay on top of things I decided to take care of some for her. When I heard the washer stop I knew it was time to load the dryer. When I did I realized there was a screw missing. Originally it was covered by a sticker. It held the lint trap in place. Then I noticed the clip for the door was sorta screwd in. I'd recommend some quality control. Not sure what may happen....

Great value
It is a clothes dryer, NOT a new sports car. It does what it is support to do - DRY CLOTHES, not whistling Dixie while searching the internet! We didn't want all the expensive features that break down - just dry the clothes completely. IT DOES IT WELL. Our G.E. washer we bought several years ago has functioned flawlessly without all the fancy, unnecessary electronic gimmicks. G.E. - focus on building well made long lasting equipment and you will never go out of business.

Timer issues
We bought this dryer thinking it would be better than dryers with computerized components, we were wrong. We have had this dryer 2 years and have had to replace the timer twice already. Even after repair the knob feels squishy when turned. I do not recommend this dryer unless you have a nice neighbor like I do who lets you use her dryer every 6 months or so!!

VERY DISAPPOINTED & can’t return bc came w/ house
I’m going to have to get GE to come to my newly built house with new appliance because my fist set of linens dried in this dryer got snagged and ripped! I’m actually very upset because I’m a very first time home buyer by myself and now need to figure out why a brand new dryer is ruining my linens that I bought purposely for my first home. I know it’s first work problems but I worked very hard to get hear and even after trying different cycles and lessening the loads to see if this helps , more a...

Horrible Lint and Drying timne
The lint filter does not collect all the lint as the lint gathers below the filter. If you lift out the filter you see all the lint that has gathered below just sitting at the bottom. How do you suggest we remove that lint? The review on https://www.geappliances.com/appliance/GE-7-2-cu-ft-Capacity-aluminized-alloy-drum-Electric-Dryer-with-Sensor-Dry-GTD45EASJWS sums it up perfectly. Also it takes FOREVER to get towels and blankets dry. 6 hours.

Catching on drawstring
I like the dryer, but just about every time we dry a sweatshirt or sweatpants or something with drawstring it gets caught up on the inside of the drum frame real bad. Very annoying. It didn’t do that for the first year and a half, owned it for a little over two years now. Heats up great but this has become a problem 😟

Destroys Clothes and Lint Trap Sucks
Over the years we have very much come to dislike this dryer, matching washer too, for various reasons. One of them being the lint trap and how awful it is. We are lucky if the lint actually makes it to the trap, most times it just sits on top of the lint trap grille and it falls out of the dryer when we open it. Another one is clothes will get stuck between the rotating drum and dryer shell. We have no idea this happens until we hear a "bang" from it being wound so tightly. Usually the end resul...
