Franklin Sensors ProSensor X990 1.5-in Scan Depth Metal and wood stud Finder

Sensor won't work with new batteries. No lights.

The device worked for a little while and then would not power on even with brand new batteries. Tried reaching out to Franklin Sensors with no reply. Disappointing in the product.

Works well to locate the stud center

I bough this stud finder to mount my garage door openers and ceiling shelving. It does a good job of locating the studs and it shows the entire width of the stud, making it easy to locate the center.

Never worked correctly for me

Never worked right out of the box. Thought spending this kind of money on a simple tool would yield better results, but I find myself using my $15 stud finder as it's more reliable. This thing just shows red all over over every wall I've used them on, which do not stay in place btw, whereas at least my cheap one shows studs at 16" centered. Tried changing batteries, no difference. I must of gotten a lemon based off of the positive reviews here.

Very sensitive

It is a little too sensitive and gives readings at t wrong places. I like the feture that allows the center of a 2x4 to be located. It will also warn you if the re is a live electric wire where you are going to cut into the drywall.

PERFECT!

Perfect use every time. Lucky I had the Franklin Sensor because I would have drilled right into a weird wire harness embedded in the wall! Awesome product!!!
