The Japanese Boxwood stands as a stalwart in the realm of landscaping evergreens, cherished for its petite leaves that exhibit a vibrant range of greens from light to dark. This Boxwood is distinguished by its naturally rounded growth habit, maturing to a bushy silhouette of 3-6 feet in both height and width, though it can be easily trimmed to maintain any desired size. Beyond its lush foliage, the Japanese Boxwood occasionally delights with small, fragrant white flowers and subtle dark berries, adding a touch of understated beauty to its robust greenery. Notably resilient, this variety boasts remarkable deer resistance, making it an excellent choice for areas where deer browsing is a concern. Its versatility shines as it serves beautifully as a border, hedge, privacy screen, or a striking container plant. Hardy across USDA Zones 5-9, the Japanese Boxwood thrives under a range of light conditions, from the full sun to partial shade, offering flexibility in garden placement. For those looking to incorporate this evergreen into their garden, each plant is supplied in a 2.5-Gallon container, primed for planting. To ensure optimal health and growth, the Japanese Boxwood prefers moist, well-drained soil. During the initial growing season, watering 2-3 times per week is recommended to establish a deep, extensive root system. To encourage vibrant foliage and overall vigor, applying a balanced fertilizer a couple of times a year is beneficial. With these care tips in mind, the Japanese Boxwood is poised to become a lush, enduring presence in any landscape.
