The 42540 is a high temperature IR thermometer. Measures surface temperature up to 1400 degrees F (760 degrees C) with a built-in laser pointer that identifies target area and improves aim. High resolution of 0.1 degrees. High 16 to 1 distance to target ratio measures smaller surface areas at greater distances. Max/min/avg/dif features display highest, lowest, average, and max minus min values.
