The DeLonghi F6-12 Deep Fryer Replacement Filters include 3 carbon-activated charcoal filters, 3 oil vapor filters and 6 paper filters. The carbon-activated charcoal filters help prevent odors. The oil vapor filters catch splatter. When the oil vapor filter looks brown (or the colored square has changed) the filter should be replaced. Each filter is good for approximately 12 uses. The paper filters are for straining the oil. They are shaped to fit in the basket and when you pour the previously used oil in the pot you can filter it through these paper filters so you start with clean oil.
