Difficult to get top layer smooth and yellowed
this kids, not as easy to do as they say. And no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get the top layer tonight yellow. And overtime the yellowing just gets worse and worse I would never do this again I wasn’t worth the money. we did all three bathrooms in our home, and all three of them the topcoat yellows.
Fairly pleased! Ceramic tile countertops review
We chose this product because it was the prettiest and most stone-looking refinishing kit that we found, but also because we thought the product might be thick enough to fill in the grout lines from our existing 12x12 tile countertops. Spoiler: it did not. That being said, it still looks pretty great for $300 and we are overall pleased with the results. But we hated our tile countertops so it would have been really hard to make anything worse than where we started. The epoxy layer filled in ever...
Better than before
Kitchen countertops were previously done with a kit before we bought our home. I tackled this project, It took me about 8 days from start to finish. ( i removed old sink, then installed new one at the end) It recommends to use a Orbital Sander. USE AN ORBITAL SANDER. Harbor Freight has cheap ones under $50. The sanding process if extremely dusty so id recommend taping a vaccum to the sander. The sanding was the longest process for me. The epoxy is very hard to spread around and sets up fast. T...
Already recommending to friends!
Just finished my bathroom countertop. Love the result. Looks just like granite. My boyfriend was very skeptical but even he is impressed! Can’t wait to do the kitchen! I’d agree that you need to read instructions and watch the video. I rewatched it before each step. The hardest part for me was not to over-sand. I have flat counter edges and I had to keep redoing the edges due to over-sanding. I also highly recommend the orbital sander over hand-sanding. I had a few tight spots that required han...
Turned out great!
This product turned out great. It was applied on dark laminate countertops. Primer applied, Luxrock applied, sanded, epoxy layer, wet sanded, and clear coat applied over the course of 3 1/2 days. My only issue with the product was that it took over a month to arrive. Daich Coatings said they "forgot" to process the order and it took my initiation with the company to get the product shipped.
Decent overall, but manage your expectations
Overall, I’d give the final outcome of using Daich LuxRock an 8 out of 10. Be sure to have realistic expectations up front…if you’re expecting a glassy smooth, rock hard finish like on the Daich marketing videos, you’ll need to shell out the money for real granite. First off, Daich customer service is superb! My kit came with a can that had opened during shipment and leaked. They sent a replacement right away. Many other cans in the shipment were dented, so I was a bit surprised all the cans w...
I had high hopes for this product in our master bath and followed the instructions exactly. You have to be pretty meticulous with each and every step on the first try. If you go back to try and touch up anything missed once one step is dry, it will not work properly. It also can be very messy to work with, so be sure to cover your floors and anything around it (which they do tell you to do in the instructions). Working on a little lip inside of the sink was very hard and sometimes the blue paint...
Not 100% happy, not a weekend project.
I resurfaced my laminate kitchen countertop. I used 2 – 40 sq ft kits, plus an additional gallon of epoxy, total spent was approx. $600. I took my time and spent about a week and a half on the project. That said there are still quite a few imperfections in the finished product, I am only about 70% happy with the end results. I would recommend for smaller projects.
Amazing
I planned to purchase a solid surface countertop. I realized that I had to do the hard part of the install which was removing the cooktop, sink, and faucet. The “required instal” on solid surface countertops from Lowes only sets down the new top. My local associate recommended Spreadstone, but it was not stocked at my store. I went to the Daich website and settled in on the high gloss finish Luxrock. I could not be happier. I was going over a dulling epoxy applied to lightweight rv surface. The ...
LIKE REAL GRANITE!!
There are many steps involved so be patient as it is all worth it in the end. The steps involved are not difficult but you should follow closely the instructions and the video put out by Daich.
