I purchased the exact same item shortly before this one. I returned it (as I am with this one) as soon as I received it, because it had the exact same problem of the DCD998 Hammer Drill having Hammer Drill Vibration for ALL settings. (For this type of Hammer Drill): I am used to Hammer Drill Vibration only on the Hammer Drill Setting. I am used to just drilling without Hammer Drill Vibration for all the other settings. Unfortunately, it completely broke down — the internal gears shattered into pieces (see attached photos). I’ve always trusted DeWalt, but this experience was honestly disappointing and frustrating.
