Learn MoreTremco Vulkem 116 is a multi purpose, polyurethane sealant for use on a variety of exterior surfaces. It is a durable and flexible sealant that is rated for +/- 25% movement capability offering excellent performance for dynamic joints. Vulkem 116 is an excellent general purpose sealant designed for use on a variety of projects including poured and precast concrete, masonry work, window and door perimeters, and similar types of construction joints. Properly clean substrates before sealant is applied for maximum performance. Exterior use only.
Vulkem 116 forms a tight seal on poured and pre-cast concrete, masonry, construction joints as well as window frame perimeters
Adheres to exterior horizontal or vertical surfaces like concrete, brick, metal, wood, stucco, masonry, flashing, siding and more
Polyurethane sealant works for exterior applications, clean up excess uncured sealant from tools or surfaces with mineral spirits
Gray sealant meets ASTM C920, making it a great choice for areas with joint movement
May be painted after full cure of 14 to 21 days, if desired
Rated for +/- 25% movement capability making it a great choice for dynamic joints
Excellent primerless adhesion to porous substrates
Forms a soft skin within 6 hours of application, dries tack free in 30 hours and fully cures in 14 to 21 days

No Technical Support - Need Primer N/A At Lowes
To meet the stated specifications, the proper moisture curing primer must be applied as directed. Lowes does not sell this primer. (Vulkem 171 or competitors equivalent) Without priming on concrete, expect minimal adhesion. It does stay pliable for decades and, with primer, it bonds well. Technical support is non-existent. Close the Gaps
I did not realize how many gaps there were in our sliding glass door frames, but the regulaar caulking was so difficult to match. This was perfect for filling those gaps and matching to our color frame

This sealant gets the job done right
I ended up testing this sealant caulk on my door before moving on to my windows. Even though it is a thick semi textured consistency (took some effort to get the sealant to start flowing) it went on smoothly and layed evenly after edging it smooth. Will definitely invest in more of this for the rest of my windows/doors. Semi-strong smell.
