You’ll love the beauty of this subtropical large shrub/small tree! In spring and summer, it bursts into bloom showing off clusters of blue-purple flowers. If pollinated, these flowers turn into golden-yellow fruits that hang in grape-like clusters from the stems. A variety of butterfly species love sipping from the flowers. Golden Dewdrop loves heat and humidity and tolerates drought well, making it a low-maintenance addition to any garden. It can reach about 12 feet tall and wide. It blooms in spring and summer with fruits in summer and fall. Light: Grows best in full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sun per day) or part sun (morning shade with afternoon sun). Water: Drought tolerant once established but benefits from regular watering. Pruning: Can be pruned to keep it a desired size or shape but doesn’t require regular pruning. Typically, deer- and rabbit-resistant, but individual animals may eat it. Excellent in landscape beds, borders, or in mass plantings, and can also be used as a hedge or foundation plant. Zones 9-11 but can be grown anywhere as a landscape annual or in container gardens. Exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption. Send us your feedback at questions@costafarms.com
