great bamboo flooring

Just received 5 boxes of cali bamboo fossilized java 3 3/4" x 36" planks. 2 of which had been opened prior to being shipped from lowes. one box had obviously been purchased and returned before because there were cut pieces in the box. the delivery driver took pictures and told me they would turn it in when they got back to their warehouse. lowes should not have sold these boxes as new product.

We had water damage, The product you sent was spot on for the color. We haven't put it down yet.

It's very hard and was tough to nail down.

Cracking of surface

We had this installed this product 6 years ago (in Michigan). After 3 yrs noticed a couple boards with small cracks in the surface. We now have maybe 25 percent of the boards showing minute cracks. The flooring installation company and a Cali hired specialist have confirmed it is a problem. Cali says it's our fault due to fluctuations in humidity. We have a well insulated house with a furnace humidifier, and yes, in the summer on nice days open the window. Otherwise we run the AC in hot weather....

I installed this in three bedrooms 6 months ago and have had no issues. It was a glue-down process over a plywood subfloor. I used a Sika acoustic underlayment which makes the floor a pleasure to walk on. I love solid stranded bamboo! It is heavy, difficult to scratch, and looks amazing. Avoid the laminated bamboo at all costs. It just gives bamboo floors a bad reputation. Don't Buy This

We've had this now for four years. I see the original Java Distressed isn't even offered anymore. Probably because it doesn't hold up at all. It scratches like crazy and the scratches are white, even though the color is supposed to go all the way through the material. We can't buy replacement pieces and we've run out now. It shrinks badly depending on the season so there's an inch or better all the way around the room where it pulls away from the wall exposing the underlayment (their recommendat...
