Amethyst Astilbe is superb on its own as it spreads quickly and forms broad clumps. Astilbe thrive in shade or semi shade and will naturalize in regular-to-moist soil. Amethyst has lavender colored flowers that when they have stopped blooming for the season, its fern like foliage will be showy until fall. This versatile, easy to grow plant tolerates hot summers or a waterside location or both.
