[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This potting mix is well composed. I like that it uses sustainable materials for the mix and that they're more locally sourced. I haven't yet planted into the mix but I'm expecting good results!

Good quality raised bed mix.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m actually impressed with the quality of this Back to the Roots Organic Raised Bed Mix. It had no foreign materials in it! I have a 4 ft x 4 ft raised bed, and I’ve needed to sift my bags of soil because I have been finding a ton of trash, rocks, and large wood pieces in them! I will be using this brand going forward.

One of my items was delivered with a hole in the bag and soil was pouring out of it. What am I supposed to do with that?

Not worth the price

I bought 2 pallets (120 bags) of this “soil” for my raised garden beds and was hugely disappointed. This product is not even soil. It is basically just a fine mulch, just like the much cheaper products.

Extremely disappointed.

Extremely disappointed. This is not what I expected for a raised bed soil. The product I received was mostly wood mulch and partially composted manure, with very little actual soil. Many bags also contained white-ish fungus or mold, which made me question the quality and how long the bags had been sitting. After watering the soil, it became surprisingly hot. The heat was far beyond what I would expect from a planting medium, suggesting the organic material was still actively decomposing. I would...

Supports Healthy Plants

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew swiss chard from tiny seedlings in this mix and they have grown into the most vibrant, strong, & healthy swiss chard plants. They have been completely resistant to disease this year and the highest yield. This mix has added nutrients that have made for a bountiful year for chard. The mix is a little stick heavy but overall good for any plant in the raised bed.

Turns into nothing but mulch

I needed something for my chicken run and it had to be something organic because they root around in it. I ordered about 50 bags and it only took about half that to fill their run to what I needed. Now, after having been in there about a month or just over, I look around and all I see are big pieces of wood particles. It looks more like mulch than actual soil. I expected dirt. Plain old dirt that hadn't been sprayed with chemicals.

This item was ordered, said it was shipped, and never arrived! When customer service was contacted they couldn't make contact with the carrier to even track the shipment.
