Broke same as old one
Had to replace old one because sides of unit came apart. Just used new one for first time and same thing happened. Have tried to use superglue to hold it together . . . don't know if that will work till next time I use it. Should be better constructed.

Can Strip with the right GRIT
I needed to strip stain off an old piece so I could paint it different color. This device coupled with 80 grit sandpaper turned a 2 hour project into 15 minutes. It left no stain and made my project very receptive to both conditioner and Milk Paint.

Velcro fail. Did not last 5months of light use
I really like the matrix system. I use the drill, impact driver, reciprocating saw and jig saw. All them attachment pretty good for small projects. The stander attachment fell apart after 5 months of light use. It was used for 4 projects. Velcro came apart.

Unwieldy but effective
It is compatible with finger-platens from the Mouse Sander and the 20v sander! Like the title, this attachment seems quite a bit unwieldy. The sander likes to jump around and wrestle itself free while using it, so it may require two hands to operate. I did find that it removes material at a decent speed too, maybe around 3 inches for every 1 second on a solid wood chair due to the size of the sander attachment. It's no belt-sander, but it'll do great as a finishing//detail sander. Lastly...

Perfect
Purchased attachment for personal use. Ended up using it for the first time at work sanding a aluminum window frame.

Don't recommend
I bought this item in a set with the drill and would not recommend! I was really looking forward to the sander attachment because I have been wanting a cordless one. I use hand tools daily and the sander has no power what's so ever, all it does is vibrate it would me all day to actually get something sanded down and that just wood don't try sanding off paint unless your week is clear! The drill doesn't have power either! I was trying to drill holes in plain cedar (pretty soft wood and brand new...

Awesome tool to have!
For the amount of time that iv had this attachment it's worked great for sanding wood projects and plaster on the walls when prepping for painting.

sander velcro pad
After about two years of constant sanding projects the velro pad that allows you to attach sanding paper to the sander has now detached completely, for jng me to either try to glue the velcro back on attachment or just go out and buy a new one. For a small all in one multi tool atachment it has been pretty decent
Nice and Convenient
The ability to quickly change between drilling, sanding and the other attachments is an awesome convenience. I really like the pointed nose of the sander, which makes it easy to get into corners and the bottom edges of big, heavy projects. The ONLY downside I have discovered isn't a flaw in the design of the the attachment, but a flaw in the design of the Black & Decker Matrix Drill itself. The fact that it doesn't have a trigger lock (that is, locks the trigger in pulled position so you don't h...
