No-Go For 1st-Time Removals

Bought this filter wrench for two primary reasons: (1) Needed to remove a 2-1/4" diameter filter located in a restrictive space, and, (2) needed mechanical leverage for removing the over-torqued OEM installed filter for the 1st oil change. Pro: The packaged wrench cited the flexibility and specs I needed. Reasonable price point for "like" wrench specs. This wrench is not good for use with a riding lawnmower. Not enough room to tighten it then turn it. I returned it and bough a useful one at an auto parts store that you use with a socket wrench.

Solid grip -- light best for "light" jobs - lawn tractors etc -- spring/clasp closure pops open sometimes -- May not eliminate need to drive a screw driver through filter to achieve enough leverage to get it off

Poor design, flawed manufacture

This wrench is NOT recommended. I tried to use it to change the oil filter on a riding mower engine. It was difficult to get the band to firmly grip the filter. Once I got it engaged, the tool cracked at the tooth region when I attempted to rotate the filter. This is the first time and last time I used it. I am not that strong!

A waste of materials

This product was basically useless when I serviced my riding mower. I took them back and went to a automotive center and bought a pair to use on my truck that actually worked better than these did on my mower.

Don't do it...

Was changing a tight filter & the wrench immediately bent. This was just after I bought the item & was the first time I used it. I'd spend a bit more money in hopes of a strider, higher quality item.

Got this thing to change the oil filter on my riding mower. Couldn't get it to fit, too big even at smallest setting. Returned for refund.
