The summer substitute for cooler season snapdragons, Angelonia looks like open-mouthed snaps, but loves the heat and tolerates drought. Well-branching habit without the need to pinch creates a full-looking plant that sends up spikes of continuous blue color in landscapes, gardens, and mixed containers. Heat-loving with low water needs and easy to care for, Serenita Sky Blue Angelonia is a low-fuss, high-impact plant for spring and summer color in the garden, able to put on a show in a wide range of conditions. It’s a peak performer during those hot and humid nights, which for some parts of the country is pretty often during summertime. Guess you could say sky’s the limit with this one, other than literal height. With its mounded habit, Serenita Sky Blue Angelonia can be used in the middle of a waterfall-style (high to low) flower bed design. Looks great with vincas and petunias, among other border-friendly color plants. Also works wonderfully along walkways, in edgings, or in patio containers. No special soil needed, just lots of sun and good drainage. Grows to 12” to 14” high and wide. Provide full sun. Flowers spring to summer. Hardy to Zone 10/35 degrees F.
