I purchased these early to ensure I had them in time for summer, and on the first sunny and warm-ish day this year, I set them up. I filled the bases with water and hung the lights in less than an hour. The span is about 15' in each direction. The poles are metal and seem very strong and I was a worried they might be heavy but they were completely manageable for a 50-ish-year-old woman doing it alone.
