The flow restrictor works with the reverse osmosis membrane to keep a perfect ratio of water flow to the drain and filtered water production flow. When waste water jam into the restrictor there will be no waste water outflow and can cause RO membrane plugging. When the waste water flow is too big, the flow restrictor can't produce drinking water. FLO-700-QC is for reverse osmosis systems with membrane range from 65 Gal. per day (1:4) to 135 Gal. per day (1:2).
