Install Cabinet Organizers

Slide-out baskets are great for organizing pots and pans or packaged food items. Under-sink trash cans keep unappealing features hidden and still close at hand.

Measure the cabinet's interior depth, width and height. Also check the clearance of cabinet doors, drawers and hinges. Then, check the dimensions of cabinet organizer to make sure it will fit.

Inside the cabinet, measure the height needed for the upper basket by placing your largest pot inside the cabinet, keeping in mind that the pot will need to clear the door opening when the basket slides out.

Attach the bottom slides to support the bottom holes in the U-shape support bracket.

Attach the upper slides at the height you measured to complete the frame.

Set the frame in the cabinet, opposite the hinges. The front of the slide should be about 1/4 inch from the edge of the face frame. Secure the unit with screws.

Attach the rear-mounting bracket to the back of the cabinet.

Return the baskets to the slides and check performance.

Install the basket, uprights and handle with screws.

Insert the trash can and check that it slides smoothly.

Secure the L-brackets to the slides, then loosely attach the L-brackets to the door brackets.

Align the door brackets with the thickest part of the door so the screws won’t pierce the cabinet front. Use spacers (shown) if needed.

Close the frame and place double-sided tape on the brackets.

Align the cabinet door with the upper drawer, if present, and adjacent cabinet doors. Double-check the alignment with a level. Press firmly onto the tape to ensure a proper fit.
