How to Make a Flower Wall

If you plan to paint the flower wall, take a canvas of the desired dimensions. Place it flat on a level surface or tabletop and secure it to the surface using removable painter’s tape. Keep your painting colors, mixing plate, drop cloth and water glass nearby.

When painting the flower wall, you can paint the base in any shade. Painting a background color on the base will ensure that the space between the flowers does not look empty. You can also choose to keep it as it is.

You can also make the flower wall using artificial flowers. To prepare its base, you will need to use a foam sheet. Lay this​ foam sheet on a flat surface. Attach Velcro strips on all four corners at the back of the foam sheet or your canvas.

Draw flowers of different sizes and shapes using a pencil. Add vines and leaves to fill in the spaces between flowers. Paint them using acrylic paints. Make sure you follow a certain theme when painting flowers. Use either vibrant colors for a bold look or pastel shades for minimal décor.

If you are using artificial flowers, place them across the foam sheet. Arrange the big flowers first and then the smaller ones. Cut the stems away using a pair of scissors. Fill in the space using artificial leaves, vines or pampas. Secure them to the foam base with the help of a hot glue gun.

Allow the paint or hot glue to dry completely. Keep the flower wall stable in one place while it's drying.

Have a look at the finished product. Use sparkles or paint to cover any empty spaces. Apply a coat of clear sealant to protect your painting from moisture. Check that artificial flowers are securely attached to the foam sheet. Use more glue if needed. Follow the next step only after the flower wall has dried completely.

Use a clean cloth to remove any dust from the wall. Take the other part of your Velcro strip and peel off the back covering to reveal the sticky surface. Hold this sticky side of the velcro strip towards the surface where you want to attach the Velcro strips. Gently press ​​the Velcro strip on the surface. Wait for a few minutes to allow the bond to strengthen.

Lift your flower wall and position the Velcro strips attached on it over the newly installed strips on the wall. Press the Velcro strips together. Your DIY flower wall is ready for display.
